1. Eligibility

Echobraker is offered only to residents of the United States and its territories (Puerto Rico, Guam, the US Virgin Islands, American Samoa, the Northern Mariana Islands and the US Minor Outlying Islands) who are 18 or older. By signing up you confirm both. We terminate accounts we learn belong to anyone under 18 or who doesn't live in those places.

2. Contributor rules

Cite 1 to 5 public sources for every note.
Address claims, not people. No insults, claims about motives, or speculation about who someone is.
No doxxing: never identify, guess or hint at anyone's real identity, employer, location or other accounts.
Only write notes on checkable factual claims.
Use your own words; quote at most about 15 words of the original.
No self-promotion.
Don't act on Reddit because of a note. Don't vote, comment, message, report or crosspost on Reddit about an item you noted or rated.
One account per person. Coordinated or automated rating is prohibited.

3. Your notes

You own the notes you write. You license them to the Echobraker Project under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0) so they can be displayed and included in public data downloads.

4. Notes are their writers' views

Notes are the views of the contributors who write them, not of the Echobraker Project or Reddit Lies. The project hosts notes and runs an open algorithm; it doesn't verify them. You promise that your notes are accurate to the best of your knowledge and are your own work, and you agree to indemnify the project against claims arising from them.

5. Moderation

Moderators may hide, remove or archive notes and suspend accounts that break these rules. They never edit the text of a note. A suspended account cannot sign in. To appeal, email appeals@echobraker.com from the address on the account. A moderator who wasn't involved in the suspension reviews appeals within 7 days. Doxxing earns an immediate strike and loss of writing; a second doxxing strike is a ban. Other violations lead to a ban at three strikes.

6. Takedowns, appeals and repeat infringers

Send legal notices (defamation, copyright, privacy) through the takedown form or to legal@echobraker.com. Copyright notices should include the elements listed in 17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3). We act on credible defamation notices within 72 hours, pending review. Accounts that repeatedly infringe are terminated. Appeals are reviewed by a different moderator within 7 days.

7. No warranty; limited liability

The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, the Echobraker Project is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes are resolved in the state or federal courts located in Tennessee.

9. Independence

Echobraker is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Reddit, Inc. or X Corp.
